There are many reasons why people love (well, most people) love minimalist games. They’re obviously simple to understand and play, while at the same time, they’re not that easy to master and requires a bit of mental skill or hand-eye coordination mastery (or sometimes both). Developer Nickervision has now re-released three of his previous minimalist, one-touch arcade games, with improvements and additions based on comments and suggestions. You can say that these games have been “reborn”.
Bing Bong Reborn is basically like playing pingpong with yourself but with a green bouncy ball. You touch the screen to slow it down and then let go to speed it up. And of course, there are obstacles in between trying to get in your way. And if they get in your way, then you’re dead. We mean, really dead in the game. But then you can start s new game again.
Pivot Reborn plays with the same principle, but this time around instead of making it go up and down, you make your circle pivot (obviously) into the direction you want it to go to. Again, avoid the distracting objects, which includes a wall this time, that will try to kill your ball. Righty Tighty Reborn is a bit like Pivot, but you cannot make your circle pivot, and you’re always going in the right (opposite of left, to be clear) direction. Flying objects also included to kill you.
The three reborn games are supposedly more smooth-running now and should look slicker. It also comes with few minor tweaks courtesy of user suggestions. Aside from getting the free versions of Bing Bong Reborn, Pivot Reborn, and Righty Tighty Reborn, you can also get the ALT versions that don’t have ads, permissions, or IAPs, but of course for a fee of $0.99 each game.
