With all the news, events, blogs, and posts out there, it’s easy to drown in all the information, and probably miss the ones that you really wanted to see. Content curation apps like Flipboard, Zite, Feedly, are hugely popular now to help us make sense of the noise, and it wouldn’t hurt to have a new one compete with them, especially one that has been built specifically for Android devices. Meet Glean, who can possibly be your new digital best friend.

Glean looks through the Internet (not a mean feat) or specifically, over 15,000 sites, for all the news that will interest you, as long as you tell it what it is that interests you. It gives the results to you i a Material Design-inspired layout, complete with “bright deliberate colors” and of course, the now familiar floating action buttons, coupled with attractive new topic images. The way it works is that it uses machine learning technology, coupled with your interests, and gives you the latest news on your favorite topics and the latest trending articles in a curated news feed.

You can do all the usual news reader things, like adding the articles you like in your favorites list, creating collections to save the content you like in an orderly fashion, sharing the links you like onto your social networks and messaging apps. Plus, you also get to discover new apps, the best events near you, and more content that you didn’t really think you would like, but now you do.

Glean is really just like any other news reader app, except that it’s prettier, and that it is created specifically for Android devices. If that’s a thing that you would like, then you can download it for free from the Google Play Store.
