Pacman will always be one of the favorite classic games for those who were old enough to enjoy the old-school beauty of this game. But as with everything else that is classic, the game itself would have to adapt to how people are playing games nowadays, and that is through their smartphones, tablets, and portable game consoles. And of course, the look and feel would have to change without sacrificing the essence of the game. Welcome, to Pacman Championship Edition DX.
Basically, this is Pacman if he’s on steroids and addicted to techno music. Actually, the game has been in soft-launch free-to-play mode for almost a year, but now, it is in full battle mode, but not free anymore. And the twist to this game is that you are now playing in timed, high-score attack modes. You still have to navigate the maze, but this time around, everything seems to be faster, more colorful, and accompanied by booming techno music.
You need to wake up the sleeping ghosts as you go around eating pellets, and they will form a train behind you as they try and eat you up. But your goal is to actually eventually eat them up and get huge points for doing so. The game becomes faster the longer you play, therefore making it more difficult to go around the maze.
If you’re up for the challenge, you can download Pacman Championship Edition DX from the Google Play Store for $4.99. But that’s already all-in, no more ads or in-app purchases necessary.
