All of us have probably dealt with these things in one way or another: frayed cables, tripping on wires while charging, accidentally destroying the charging/data port of your smartphone. And when you look at Apple’s MagSafe power cord adaptor, you’ve probably wondered, “Why hasn’t anyone invented something like that for other devices?” Well, someone just did, and soon we’ll have Znaps, a magnetic connector adaptor that can be used either for lightning or micro USB ports.
The magnetic charging adapter has one, main purpose and that is to make your charging life a bit more convenient. And it’s not just charging that it supports, but data synchronization as well. If you had devices that used either or both lightning adapters or microUSB, you’ll be able to use Znaps since it has adapters for both. The way it works is pretty simple. Plug in the magnetic connector to your phone socket, then insert the proper connector head. Then you can snap and charge or transfer data.
Another great thing about this is that the micro USB is reversible, so it made it even easier. It is also waterproof so even if you splash a little water while charging, it won’t cause much damage (although if your device is not waterproof, then we can’t help you with that). Znaps also has a small LED light that indicates it is currently charging.
Znaps is currently on Kickstarter, but they’ve already more than met their target amount. There are still 25 days to go, so you still have time to be a backer. You just need to pledge $11 and you already get a connector and adapter (choose either lightning or microUSB).

This is a crowdfunded project, and as such may not deliver what its creators initially promise. Most crowdfunding sites, like Kickstarter and Indiegogo, have policies about what happens to your money if the project fails to deliver on its goals, but choosing to back a project is inevitably a risk. Android Community’s reporting on crowdfunded projects should in no way be seen as an endorsement, unless specifically stated, and we recommend closely examining the terms and conditions to understand your individual rights as a backer before making a pledge.
