Misfit is stepping up their wearable game as they have announced their new products, both hardware and software. The new Misfit Flash Link is just like your average activity tracker but it can be attached as an accessory to various parts of your body. It also comes with a built-in button that can be synced to various smart devices, if programmed through the Misfit Flash Link app, which acts like an IFTTT program.
The Misfit Flash Link can be used as a watch, a necklace, attached to your belt loop or to your running shoes, or whatever creative way you can think of to attach it to your body. It can track most of your fitness activities like running, cycling, swimming, tennis, yoga, dance, etc. It can also track your sleeping, even breaking it down into light and deep sleep. It is water resistant up to 30 meters and doesn’t need charging because it uses a replaceable coin cell battery that can last you up to 6 months. And it can also serve as a cool watch because it has 12 LED lights to help you tell what time it is.
What makes it stand out from other wearables is the the built-in button that can work with your camera and some apps like Spotify, Pandora, and soon Logitech Harmony devices. However, the app that controls all of this is not yet available for Android devices, but it will soon be.
The Misfit Flash Link is compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S4/S5/Note 3, the Google Nexus 4 and 5, and Android devices that are BLE ready and running on Android 4.3 and above. It costs $19.99, making it one of the cheaper wearables out there, and comes in onyx (black), frost (white), reef (green), and red (well, red).
