Smartphones have become more than just devices that we use to call and text. Most of us probably also use it as a music player, among other things. But didn’t you ever wish that the sound quality when playing your favorite jams would be so much better? Marshall, one of the world leaders in headphones and amplifiers, most likely heard your wish, as they are releasing their first ever smartphone which will focus more on the device’s sound capabilities.

The Marshall London is marketing itself as the smartphone for music lovers. And given its pedigree, we would like to believe that it really does have that demographic in mind. Saying that it will be “the loudest phone on Earth,” it is the only smartphone in the market that has these features: dual speakers with enhanced bass technology, hifi-grade sound card, crystal-clear playback of lossless FLAC files, hi-grade stereo microphone for recording, and excellent noise reduction.

The London isn’t selfish either; it has two stereo jacks so you can let a friend listen in on your favorite song of the moment. And if you’ve grown tired of having to adjust your sound preferences for each music app you listen to, this device has a global wide equalizer so you can just input your preferences there. And since music is this phone’s priority, it has an M-button, which gives you quick access to all the music players (including music streaming ones) that are installed in your phone. It also has a pre-installed music player that can play almost all popular formats (mp3, mp4, AAC, etc).

Pre-orders for the London will start by July 16, and delivery commences by late August. It will initially be available in 22 countries only, but hopefully, they will expand to others later on. It will be on sale at the Marshall website starting this August and will retail for $500. Pretty steep, but if you’d really like for an excellent sounding music player and smartphone in one, you’d want to splurge on this one.
