More sound enhancements and and music experience upgrades are delivered by the latest Sonos software update. We’re now on the 5.4 version and just like the previous one (Sonos 5.3), this version brings a slew of improvements and changes to this smart system of audio components and High Fidelity (HiFi) wireless speakers whether for your home or the office.
The Radio by TuneIn on Sonos now features hi-res album art and new icons for a better visual treat while browsing your music albums or playlist. When it comes to new music and playlist discovery, Google Play Music will give several recommendations based on your past listening activities. If you’re the type who likes to listen in shuffle mode, you’ll notice some improvements like the track queue changing every time you turn shuttle on or off.
PLAY:1 sound has also been improved. Expect more clarity and more optimized bass performance especially when paired with a sub. If you are setting up a home theater, the updated Sonos software makes it easier to do one as your audio system can now connect to a Playbar even sans the Sonos component. All you need is the app and to carefully follow how to set up the home theater.
Another important update but not exactly good news for those who use the CONTROL Setting menu. You will not longer be able to set up a new system, add new components, pair stereo, change room settings, and add or manage music services and libraries. You can only do these tasks using the native Sono app on a mobile device.
