Why would anyone want to scare themselves to death (well, that may be an exaggeration, but you never know) while playing a mobile game? Then you’d also have to ask why we love watching scary movies or telling scary stories. There are certain people who are fascinated with the horrific and the unknown, and that carries over to mobile games as well. One of the newest ones to try to scare the bejeezus out of you is called House of Grudge, now available on Android devices.
A tragic event unfolded in a creepy mansion in a tiny village, where a young couple happily welcomed the birth of their young baby. Well, until that aforementioned tragedy occurred. But as to what that event is (you can take a wild guess) is part of the mystery that you have to uncover as you play this “escape the room” game. You will be able to escape by solving the puzzles, while at the same time trying to stay alive in real life, since surprises pop up every once in a while on your screen. And we don’t mean the good kind of surprise.
It’s not just the surprises that will scare you, but the whole atmosphere of the game as well, including the music and the game background. In fact, the developers advise you to use headphones for the “maximum gameplay experience”. They however warn you that it may cause seizures and an accelerated heart rate so the elderly, pregnant women, young children and those with pre-existing conditions should stay away.
House of Grudge is available at the Google Play Store for just $0.99. There are no in-app purchases so everything is all-in for that amount.
