When it comes to mobile photography, Motorola isn’t the brand of smartphone that you will immediately think of, unless you were thinking of disappointing hardware and software. The OEM has often been criticized for failing to deliver a good camera experience for users of their flagship devices, despite having quality hardware all in all. But their CMO promised that they are working hard to rectifying this problem and coming up with something that will “bring it”, and we assume that it means a better camera.

Adrienne Hayes, the CMO of Motorola said on Twitter that the company knows that they need to improve their product, as their flagship Moto X (both 1st and 2nd gen) leave much to be desired camera wise. She was asked if their next big product will come with an advanced manual camera mode and an improved imaging, and she promised that they will this year.

Meanwhile “Teknological Secret Agent” Twitter user Ricciolo posted a cryptic message about how a new device that is “smarter” and “sooner than expected” cannot be compared to the 2014 “M”odel because it will now have “in house” camera tricks. The tweet included a screenshot bearing what we assume are features of a new device like auto-scene detection which optimizes shots, nightscape mode, HDR backlight, and dimlight mode. Because of the use of the M in quotation marks, people are assuming this refers to a new Motorola smartphone.

While Ms. Hayes seems enthusiastic about bringing it, people will probably believe her if the product is in the market already. And if Ricciolo’s tweet does refer to Motorola, then it looks like they are truly working on it. Let’s just hope the actual product lives up to the billing.
