Ninjas and frogs aren’t two things that you automatically link in your head, but a new game available for Android smartphones and tablets has done just that. Green Ninja: Year of the Frog lets you practice your kung-fu skills as you try to escape the evil clutches of some bad ninjas. While it is weird seeing frogs doing martial arts, what can you expect from the game developers that brought you Silly Sausage and Roller Polar.

Not only do you escape from the evil ninjas who were trying to eat you, but now, your mission is to take revenge on them for trying to make you part of their buffet. This turn based action puzzler gives you lots of kung fu action as your ninja frog goes kicking and destroying through all the levels. If you get stuck in one of the levels, you’ll be given additional but optional challenges to get you out of that rut. The controls are pretty easy as you just need to swipe left, right, and up to be able to move around.

There are also easy, small puzzles that would eventually turn into more challenging and “brain-melting” ones as the game goes along. The graphics are cutting edge in terms of pixel looks and the music will spur you more in your quest for revenge. There are also warnings to parents (since kids would probably want to play this) that there are direct links to sites that may be for those over 13 years old.

You can download Green Ninja: Year of the Frog for free from the Google Play Store. There are in-app purchases available, so that’s another warning for parents.
