While digital voice assistants can do a lot of things already, sometimes, you’d want them to just do a basic function, like messaging. Fortunately, you have apps that can do that for you now. One of the “smartest” in the market is called Touchless Chat, and based on its name, you already know what it’s all about. Using the power of voice commands, you’ll be able to initiate sending messages from Google Now or through a widget, all without touching your device.
It doesn’t just support SMS, but a host of other third-party messaging apps, including Hangouts, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Telegram (the app, not the old school way of sending messages), Viber, Skype, Threema. Another great thing about this app is that you can actually choose which one is the default messaging app for each contact and even which language you should use with them. You can also assign a nickname for each contact so that it will be easier for Touchless Chat to recognize their name when you start a chat.
Aside from the messaging apps, it can also work with Tasker so you can automate your messages and notifications. You can also integrate it with Smart Repliers so the messages can be read to you at the appropriate times and locations, and it can also send preset replies if you’re busy, like “Sorry, I’m busy”. Touchless Chat also has Android Wear support so you can also send messages through Google Now on your smartwatch.
You can download Touchless Chat from the Google Play Store for free. But it comes with ads and also includes a link to the app at the end of each message that you send. You can remove those through in-app purchases. Otherwise, just deal with it if you don’t want to pay for anything.
