There’s nothing secret anymore about “The Talos Principle” – everybody who follows gaming news will know what this introspective-slash-philosophical puzzle game is all about. The game has been out for the PC platform for a year now, so we know exactly what to expect. Still, it doesn’t take away the excitement that this great game is now out for Android.
An early but needed caveat – the game features wide open spaces with highly detailed graphical elements, so the game is rightly reserved now for devices which have the powerful NVIDIA Tegra chipsets, and even then, those processors and GPUs will still be pushed to their limits. At this point, the game is designed only for the NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet, the Tegra K1-equipped Nexus 9 tablet, and the recently unveiled NVIDIA SHIELD TV console.
The game starts out putting you in control of an android who is being directed by a voice that claims to be God. The game presents you with various logic and spatial puzzles where the story unfolds and you learn more about yourself, your environment, and your maker. The PC version of the game has been widely compared to Valve’s iconic Portal series. If you appreciate puzzles and philosophical discussions, you will enjoy this one.
Pity that you can only play this on a powerful NVIDIA Tegra-powered device. If you are an owner of said devices, you will do well to pick this game up. Again, another caveat – the game is heck expensive. The app and the first episode will cost you USD$5.00, and then USD$5.00 for each episode after. This will take you to a total of USD$30.00 for the whole game, which makes The Talos Principle easily one of the most expensive games in the Google Play Store. But the quality of the game seems to warrant it, we think.

$30 for a game which is presumably downgraded quite a bit from the PC (albeit optimised). If this will only play on the tegra devices why not buy the full version for about the same price and stream it?
