If it’s been one of your life dreams to pilot a craft in space but of course you know it probably won’t happen in this lifetime (unless, you’re in some kind of training with NASA now), at least you know you can always turn to apps and games to fulfill that goal. One game you can play is Plancon: Space Conflict which mixes space exploration and alien invasion in one epic adventure in the outer reaches of the universe.
The game is set in a world where space travel is a common occurrence and you’re one of those that always like to go on adventures out there. But there is an added catch to your trip, and that is you’re part of a plan to destroy those pesky alien invaders. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to handle a spaceship yet because you start out with what is basically a game tutorial. Things start slow but eventually turn into a faster, more complicated, but infinitely more rewarding gameplay.
You start out with the equivalent of a junkship, but as you earn more points, you get to upgrade your ship little by little. You can also buy blasters, lasers, missiles and other weapons you can think of to fight against those aliens. You also get to hire your crew because, as we’ve seen in countless space setting tropes, you can’t do it alone. You can choose to play in real-time or turn-based modes, and you can also choose which kind of character you want to be; a pirate, merchant, thief, soldier, hero, etc.
The journey in this game is endless and aside from your one major quest, you can also do other mini-adventures on the side. You can download Plancon from the Google Play Store for just $2.99, but there are also other in-app purchases as well.
