How does it feel like to be born from absolute nothingness? How would you escape from a curse that is threatening to overcome you? Which among the five colors is your favorite? Why were you named Born? These are just some of the questions that you may or may not get an answer while playing Nihilumbra, a new game available for Android devices that will take you on a weird, but definitely interesting trip across the planes of its world.
In this game, you are named Born and you were, uhm, born from nothingness and cursed to be eternally chased by The Void which is seeking to reclaim you. You will be traveling in a mostly monochromatic world in this side-scrolling endless runner, but you will be able to use five different colors to change the ground physics as you run. And it is a challenge to be running from The Void who is destroying everything in its path just to be able to swallow you into nothingness again.
The game uses “old school” playability and combines it with a redesigned sensibility for tactile devices. There are over 10 hours of gameplay in order to enjoy Nihilumbra and you will be able to enjoy five different worlds as your canvas which you can actually transform as you play along. You have two choices as to how to control the game; either use the classic buttons or you can also tilt your way to finishing it.
