You’re in a conference and taking notes on paper may be how you’re used to doing it, but making them digital is such a pain. You want to sketch that beautiful scenery in front of you, but using your finger on your tablet is just not enough. You need to write down a phone number or address, but for one reason or another, you can’t bring out your phone and you know if you write it on paper, you’ll lose it. A new Kickstarter project is trying to help you solve those problems.
Phree is a smart pen, but unlike the others that you can use only on your devices or on a special kind of paper, it lets you write on almost any surface available and immediately transmits it to your connected device. That means you can make the world (well, at least the stuff around you) your paper, like glass, the table, the wall, even your skin. And all of what you’ve written or sketched or drawn will show up on your smartphone or tablet or laptop, or TV, or anything that is connected to the pen through Bluetooth.
The smart pen is also compatible with some of the most used productivity apps like Acrobat, Evernote, Google Handwriting Keyboard, Office, OneNote, Viber, etc. You can also receive, write, and send text messages, as long as they’re not that long, on the Phree display. If you want your handwriting to turn into actual text, you can also do it with this smart pen. It might look weird, but you can even use it as a Bluetooth headset.
Their campaign has reached more than half (twice, in fact) of their target of $100,000 with 39 days to go before it ends. The early bird slots are all gone, so if you want to get a Phree and support the project, you just need to shell out $168. Shipping is estimated at April of next year.

This is a crowdfunded project, and as such may not deliver what its creators initially promise. Most crowdfunding sites, like Kickstarter and Indiegogo, have policies about what happens to your money if the project fails to deliver on its goals, but choosing to back a project is inevitably a risk. Android Community’s reporting on crowdfunded projects should in no way be seen as an endorsement, unless specifically stated, and we recommend closely examining the terms and conditions to understand your individual rights as a backer before making a pledge.
THIS is the smart pen we might need. Not sure about the bluetooth headset, but if it’s cheap to cram in, then so be it. As long as i my written words get to my phone add they are written, I’m all for it.
