AT&T and Hulu have announced a deal that will give AT&T customers access to Hulu streaming media in a couple new places. The deal will see the Hulu streaming service offered to AT&T customers via AT&T websites and mobile apps.
Under the new deal AT&T, users will have access to browse through the programs available on Hulu and select what they want to watch via an AT&T app for mobile devices or on the AT&T website if they want to watch online. AT&T says that when the offerings on Hulu are combined with its TV Everywhere catalog its customers have one of the best selections of content to watch anywhere.
AT&T says that it and Hulu are also looking at the possibility of bringing the Hulu content app to TVs as well. Exactly when AT&T users will get access to the Hulu content hasn’t been announced. For now AT&T is only saying that Hulu content will land later this year.
It does appear that customers will need a Hulu subscription to be able to stream any of this new content. AT&T isn’t footing the bill for memberships for all of its customers. Essentially, the deal just put the Hulu content you can get via Hulu apps and websites into AT&T’s apps.
