If you actually liked the idea of the super popular number puzzle game 2048, but in reality, you actually strongly dislike numbers, then you’re in luck. A new game that is based on the premise of 2048 has hit Google Play Store and is ready to conquer your mobile devices. But instead of looking at numbers, you’ll actually be building a city and growing your property until you make a huge metropolis.

The gameplay is pretty simple to master. You grow your city by matching similar squares. You start off with a few squares filled with grass. Then as you grow your area, you will be able to shift the grid in just four directions until you are able to join the matching squares into one, just like in 2048 but this time, with plants and stuff. The basic idea is that you grow your city even more by connecting these tiles and then creating districts as well. And as you grow your city, your population also increases, and that will become your high score.

While the game also works on smartphones, it looks better on tablets since you’ll see better all the details on each tile on a bigger screen of course. You get bonuses as well the more tiles you connect. Music is minimal and not distracting, so you can just concentrate on swiping and matching the tiles.

You can download City 2048 for free from the Google Play Store. There are no in-app purchases, but there is also no way to remove the pop-up ads, so you have to bear with seeing them when you’ve run out of moves.
