The Lenovo P70 came before the Lenovo K80 but the former has been available in China only. This time, the Android smartphone goes out of China and debuts in India with a INR 15,999 ($250/€222) price tag–making it in the mid-range smartphone category. The phone should be ready for purchase from most online retailers and physical stores in the country.
Lenovo’s midrange smartphone comes equipped with a 5-inch 720p touchscreen display, a 13 megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel front-facing cam, 2GB RAM, 16GB of built-in storage, microSD card slot for expansion, 1.7GHz octa core Cortex-A53 MediaTek MT6752 CPU, Mali-T760MP2 GPU, dual-SIM functionality, WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G/LTE connectivity, and a 4,000 mAh battery. The battery is impressive so you can expect a longer battery life compared to the latest Android-powered phones in the market. So far, we know two other phones with a 4000 mAh battery: the Lenovo K80 and the ASUS ZenFone 2.
At present, the Lenovo P70 only runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box but this coming June, phone can be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop. If you’re in India, go ahead and grab the Lenovo P70. It’s a midrange phone alright but the huge battery is quite attractive. Some people just need a longer lasting battery so the Lenovo P70 can be a good and affordable alternative. Who’s getting one?
