Have you ever been in a situation where you’ve donwloaded a new app on your smartphone or tablet, but then suddenly, you’re having trouble with one of the features or you don’t understand how to do certain tasks within the app? Yes, you can probably go through forums and comment sections, but we all know how that can be a rabbit hole you don’t necessarily want to fall into. A group of developers over at XDA decided to hack together an app that can help you solve that problem.

AppChat, still in its Alpha phase, basically lets you have a chat room for each of the apps that you have installed in your device. It can be to ask help from fellow users of that particular app, or if you’re feeling generous, also to help others who are having problems/issues with the app. This can also be a good way for developers themselves to interact with those who’ve downloaded their apps. All you have to do after you install it is swipe from the bottom right of your screen when using any app, and the chat will automatically appear. You can use all the usual chat functions, like messages, mention users, etc.

An update has also brought new features to the app, like the ability to post clickable links in the messages. It also now has a like button and even shows you the like count. More messages are also now visible within the chat, which may be a good thing or a bad thing. And if you’ve made a mistake, you can also now delete your own messages.

AppChat is available to download for free from the Google Play Store. Just remember that it is still in the alpha version, so as the developers request, “go easy on the low ratings” as they are still trying to fix things.
