Alcatel has just released a new addition to its Onetouch line: the POP Astro. Alcatel has teamed up with T-Mobile to bring the latest affordable LTE smartphone in the US, joining the numerous Alcatel devices available from the mobile carrier. The Alcatel Onetouch POP Astro is ready for purchase without any downpayment but with a $6.24 monthly fee on a two-year contract. Retail price is $149.76 which makes this unit very budget-friendly but still with good quality.
Starting today, April 29, T-Mobile will be offering the POP Astro online and in several authorized retailers and select retail locations. Alcatel Onetouch’s Senior Vice President & General Manager of North America Steve Cistulli said this new deal strengthens the Alcatel Onetouch and T-Mobile’s partnership that is also expected to further “democratize smart mobile technology and give budget-conscious consumers better choices in their smartphone experience”.
The new Alcatel OneTouch POP Astro comes equipped with the newest 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MTK6732 processor that allows HD Digital Voice calls and brings LTE connectivity to the masses using T-Mobile’s Data Strong network. Phone is ready for WiFi and VoLTE calling.
Other specs include a 4.5-inch qHD display, 960 x 540 pixel resolution, 5 megapixel main camera, VGA front-facing camera, some live filters to edit photos, 1GB RAM, 4GB of built-in storage, MicroSD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB, and a 2000mAH battery. The 4G/LTE-capable smartphone runs Android KitKat 4.4 OS and also features an FCC-mandated Anti-Theft Protection.
