google search history

I don’t know about you but the fact that one can now download Google search history is not something I’m excited about. I don’t want to remember all the crazy search queries I’ve done years ago especially when I first gained access to the Internet. Do I really want to know that I searched about so and so on Google? Honestly, I don’t want anyone looking up my recent search history either on my computer so I always make sure I clear browsing data so why would I ask for a copy of it?

Going incognito is not always a guarantee that search history isn’t stored. Google knows. It has many eyes you might be scared if you find out where, when, and how the tech giant has been spying on us. Whether on your desktop, laptop, mobile phone, tablet, or TV, Google can show you your search history.

See that gear icon on the top right of the page? Click on it then select ‘Download’. You will be shown this message:

 google search history

Google will then compile your personal search history into JSON files and email them to you when ready. Google is kind enough to remind us to be careful when downloading the search history data. The search giant said the archive will only be accessible to the user and that it will be ready to download from Google Drive.

Google also warned not to download the data on public computers and that account and sensitive data must be protected with a 2-Step Verification process. Should a person bring search history data somewhere else, data export policies must be examined first. With all these being said, we can say that Google is sending out a warning to everyone who wants to see their Google web search history.

Thank you Google for the option and the warning but really, I wouldn’t want anyone seeing my search history. So embarrassing .
