There are two kinds of history buffs: those that like reading about it, and those that like being in it, or at least imagining themselves in it. Now if you’re interested in the war parts of world history, then this game might be up your alley. Frontline Commando: WW2 is the sequel to Frontline Commando: D-Day and it picks up where it left off, this time dealing with the Occupation during that period of history.

“History depends on you” is not something you would normally want to see, but with games like this, you get to be the hero (or failed hero; good thing there are no real-world consequences). Your mission is to lead the Allied Forces to victory against the tri-axis of power, specifically to reach the heart of Berlin and defeat the Nazis. You get to test your battlefield skills in Belgium, Italy, Germany and other European countries that were touched by the war. Your guns are your only weapons against the enemy as you take out snipers, destroy convoys that are out to destroy you, and rally the troops on to save the continent and eventually, the world.

Each level has a challenge objective that you need to master. There are Assault, Sniper, and Rocket Launcher missions. You can also become a special operations soldier where you will be tasked to take down high-profile Axis officers or destroy crucial military targets. The game has “cutting edge graphics and precise controls” that will make you feel like you’re actually in the battlefields fighting for the survival of your life and the Allied nations.

You can download Frontline Commando: WW2 from the Google Play Store for free. There are in-app purchases available if you want extra items. But you can also disable the feature as you adjust your Google Play settings.
