If you’re a fan of the “choose your own adventure” type of stories as well as turn-based battle games, then you probably played the first chapter of the Narborion Saga on your Android device. While you probably defeated the evil ones in that game (if you ever did finish it), there is a new god of orcs in town, and it’s up to you, the hero in this saga, to stop the war once again. Welcome to Narborion 2: The God of Orcs, now available on Android smartphones and tablets.
The storyline is long and complex, but the gameplay and manner of storytelling is dynamic enough that you will never be bored. While you get to plot your course with the decisions that you make, it has also incorporated a turn-based system into the gameplay. Your ability checks and attack options use a dice-based feature. And if you want a straight-out fight scene, there are over 50 stand-alone combats in the Battle Arena, which is separate from your storyline (if you just need to duke it out somewhere).
Another cool thing with this game is that you have the option of creating your own painted 3D figurines or paper minis, and upload them to the game. There are also riddles, anagrams, and codes for you to decipher all throughout your adventure. But don’t worry, there are also hints and suggestions to help you along the way. And if you get too stressed (or even bored) with your current game, you can also play touch-based mini games on the side.
The second chapter of Narborion also brings additional spells, effects, and yes, new monsters to conquer. Narborion 2: The God of Orcs is available to download for free from the Google Play Store but with optional in-app purchases, including one that will unlock all items.
