A usual household with three-four people living in it would normally have an average of 2 gadgets each person, so that means at least 8 gadgets that may need charging at the same time. That would be okay if your household had a lot of power outlets. But what if you live in a small space with limited sockets? It will be a tangle of wires and a first-come first-served way of charging. A new IndieGoGo project wants to help you solve that problem and in a pretty way at that.
The Cove Home Charging Station is from mobile accessories company Griffin Technology and is exactly what its name says it is. It is a charging station for your devices and can hold up to five devices at the same time. It uses their trademarked ChargeSensor technology that will ensure that all those five devices will receive their respective proper amount and rate of charge. Each of the USB ports has 12 watts and uses a UL-certified internal power supply for its 110-240 volts AC.
It also gets rid of the tangled wires that are a blight to your home decor, since the charging station is a box-like device with three soft line shelves (to avoid scratching your devices) and a low-profile sliding door that can close and therefore hide your smartphones and the wires as well. You can even tilt out the door and use it as a tablet stand while it’s still charging.
The campaign on IndieGoGo has just started today and they’re targeting to raise $30,000 by May 13. If you want to be one of th early birds to have this device at home, you need to shell out $150 (with additional $50 for international shipping). But the early adopters offer will only be up for 48 hours, so better get on it if you want the Cove Home Charging Station.
