Everybody who tweaks their Android OS, or ones who use custom ROMs, know the risk, effort and hassle it takes to flash files to make your OS just so. Samsung and Nexus users will be familiar with ODIN, and maybe even Mobile ODIN, which you would use heavily in flashing these tweaks into your phone. Well, Chainfire is working on a simpler solution – an app called FlashFire, which will basically handle the flashing of these files in a simpler way.

Of course, you all know who Chainfire is – he’s practically a legend in Android after-market coding and tweaking – the one who brought SuperSU to all of us. FlashFire – like Mobile ODIN – is an app for flashing custom ROMs, kernels and other mods, without going through the custom recovery hassle. If you know what we’re talking about, you would understand how big a deal this is.

The FlashFire tool is designed to make customizing Android that much easier. Once users gain root access, the app will be able to install updates and ROM files – and automatically adding SuperSU while doing so. Pretty cool. Currently, the tool is designed for Samsung and Nexus handsets, so be extra careful if you’re not using those devices.

The promise of simplifying tweaks is very nice indeed, but we have to tell you that this is in early beta – not for the faint of heart and low on experience. For normal users, it might be best to wait for the full and stable release. But if you’re interested in trying FlashFire early, you will need to join the beta Google+ group and ask for Beta access.
