Google’s Chrome Team has just updated the Chrome app for Android. The mobile web browser has received a bit of changes that if you’re not observant, you won’t actually notice. The Internet giant updated the app last January and added updates in line with the Material Design elements and Android 5.0 Lollipop. This time, the development team added the “pull down to refresh” function on Chrome. It’s something we’ve seen in other Google apps already but it’s only now that Chrome for Android is getting the feature.
Google officially calls this release as Chrome 41 (Chrome 41.0.2272.92). Pulling to reload at the top of pages is the highlight of the update. Of course, there are numerous improvements on performance and bug fixes. Interestingly, there’s also the Chrome 42 but it’s still in beta mode. The Chrome Team just added notifications on updates from sites, some bug fixes and speed improvements, and the ability to add favorite sites to homescreen.
Google still haven’t made the new Bookmarks interface as a standard. It must be enabled in Chrome. The new Chrome now also allows disabling third-party cookies, less information in the HTTP headers, and some fixes for the merged tab feature on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Not everyone can immediately see the updated Chrome for Android so feel free to download from APK Mirror.
