Do you have dreams of becoming the next YouTube sensation? (and don’t laugh at that dream because some of the YT stars earn millions just for people watching their videos). Well, you don’t need to have a great set-up at home or in a studio to be able to launch a YT show. The HTC RE camera can now stream live videos to the video channel, so you can bring your show to the Internet even while you’re in a mobile setting.
However, it isn’t as simple as just clicking a button on your smartphone and HTC RE cam and then uploading it to YouTube. First of all, your device of course has to work with the action camera for it to actually be able to take videos. Then your smartphone has to be connected to your mobile data and not WiFi, and it has to be either 3G or 4G LTE connectivity. So how fast your video streams depends on how fast your carrier is. Of course your smartphone has to be signed in to your Google/YouTube account to be able to stream it.
You just need to tap the Enable live streaming button, then just follow the instructions that come up on the screen, until you finally see the Done button. When already activated, double check your connections, then switch to video and choose the live streaming checkbox. Don’t forget to make sure that you’re in portrait mode to avoid an awkward screen. Then tap the blue transmit button and you’re good to go. As long as the progress bar is blue, then you know you’re actually live.
You can only stream for 30 minutes and the video quality can only be up to 480p, which may be good enough for some. The live videos will not be saved to your RE camera, but of course, it will be uploaded to your YT account anyways, so no need to have it eat up storage space in your action camera. So, are you now ready to become the new multimillion YouTube star?
