If you’re the type of person who enjoys using smartphones but wants something simple and not complicated at all, something like Samsung’s Galaxy Core Prime may be the best phone for you. It will soon be available for Verizon subscribers (and we mean soon, like later this week). It is part of Samsung’s new wave of smartphones that have mid-level specs and affordable prices.
The 4.5-inch Galaxy Core Prime’s main attraction is that it has an Easy Mode where your homescreen has pre-set apps, the ones that you use the most like the Camera, Gallery, and of course, Messaging. But you can also easily customize it so that you can add or remove the apps that you want. In terms of the graphics, the apps have large icons and are front and center on your homescreen.
The 2000 mAh battery will last you the whole day of course, since the apps in this mode are the most basic ones that you use and having them readily available reduces battery consumption when you have to scroll through all the apps. It even has an Ultimate Power Saving mode to maximize the battery even more. And even if this is a mid-level device, it also has Advanced Calling 1.0 which will let you make HD voice calls to other users on the same carrier and with compatible smartphones.
The Galaxy Core Prime will be available for sale on Verizon’s online store starting February 26 and in their physical stores by March 5. It will be sold for $29.99, which includes a two-year activation with the carrier. For eligible customers on Verizon Edge, they will be able to get the smartphone for $8 a month.
