A week before the MWC 2015, LG is said to introduce a new line of affordable smartphones that are expected to be bestsellers, at least, in the mid-range category of Android phones. The good news is these units will boast of specs and features that most high end phones currently have. Exactly four new mid-range phones will be unveiled: the LG Joy, LG Spirit, LG Leon, and LG Magna.
The LG Spirit and LG Magna feature a curved display with a 3000mm radius curve, 3G or LTE connectivity, metallic back covers for the LTE version, and patterned plastic back covers for the 3G model. The LG Magna boasts a 5-inch in-cell touch display, 5-megapixel front camera, 8-megapixel main camera, 2,540mAh removable battery, and a Quad-Core chipset. The LG Spirit also has the same specs except for its 4.7-inch in-cell touch display and the main camera having 8 megapixels.
LG said in-cell touch technology makes the smartphones look slimmer. Display areas are maximized while bezels are minimized to bring images closer to the screen. The result is improved sensitivity, crisper images, better outdoor visibility, and faster touch recognition.
The new LG Leon also features a 4.5-inch display while the LG Joy only has a 4-inch display. These two are packed in compact, small, and premium bodies that can fit perfectly in one’s hand or pocket. All four mid-range phones carry UX features previously found in LG’s premium phones.
There’s also the Gesture Shot feature for that brings taking selfies to a different level. Each phone can read gestures up to 1.5 meters now to capture selfies. There’s also the LG G Flex2 original Glance View feature that allows easy and quick access to one’s phone with the time, messages, and missed calls.
LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company’s President and CEO Juno Cho said, “LG’s new mid-range collection continues our legacy of offering amazing smartphones at reasonable prices.” He added, “With our new mid-range smartphones, more and more customers will be looking to LG for their next handsets.”
All four new models will run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. As usual, no word on pricing yet. We hope to see phones shine at the Mobile World Congress next week.

I can’t figure out what are the “premium” features the title mensions. Of these, one is kind of a mid-range handset and the others are decisively low end Android One spec devices. Is this article an infomercial?
