Backing up media files from your mobile devices is important. You can always transfer files from a smartphone or tablet to a computer using the cable but it’s easier to copy files via wireless transfer although it can be slower. Thanks to cloud storage technology, it’s now easier to backup photos and videos because you just click on a button to sync and copy files.
On your Chromebook, you can easily backup media files using the Cloud Backup feature. It’s only an experimental feature found in the File App on your Chromebook. When you insert an SD card, USB thumb-drive, or any removable device on your computer, go to the the folder and you will see a “cloud” on the top right corner of the window. Click on the icon and files will be synced to a folder on your Google Drive account automatically. This makes backing up simpler and easier because some steps are eliminated. You just insert the files you need to backup and they are almost immediately saved on your Google Drive account.
Access your Google Drive account from your desktop computer, web browser, or from your Android or iOS app. Feel free to manage your files and folders, set them from being viewable in Google+, delete, rename album folders, and more. The only thing you cannot do is tag, comment, edit, or +1 Drive photos. You still need to share the photo first before people can see and comment.
