ASUS recently introduced a new Fonepad 7. The phablet with model number FE375CL runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box so this means no need to upgrade from KitKat. This year’s FonePad 7 is the first Lollipop-powered device from the Taiwanese manufacturer. This version looks very similar to the previous model but of course, specs have been improved. There’s the 7-inch LED Backlight WXGA IPS screen panel, 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, 1.3 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3530 processor, a 5 megapixel rear camera, and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera.
The new ASUS Fonepad 7 also sports a 2GB RAM, 8GB or 16GB of built-in memory, 5GB Life Time ASUS Webstorage Space, microSD card slot, 3G and 4G/LTE connectivity aside from the standard WiFi and Bluetooth. The phone tablet boasts an anti-fingerprint coating and 10 finger multi-touch support for an enhanced and more responsive touchscreen experience.
No word on battery capacity but according to ASUS, battery life can run up to a maximum of 12 hours. Fonepad 7 FE375CL measures 108.9 x 194.3 x 9.8 mm and weighs only 299 grams.
To make things better, ASUS is throwing in an additional 11GB on web storage space for the first year . Expect the Fonepad 7 to be available in Taiwan first with a $250 price tag. No mention if other countries will receive the unit but phone is listed on Asus’ global site so it should be available soon.
