Whether we like it or not, the mobile workplace has been in full effect for some years now, letting us work from wherever we are. Apps and productivity suites are trying to make our lives easier (or harder, depending on how you feel about always being in work mode). Yammer, the enterprise social networking service from Microsoft, has added more functionalities in their latest update, further integrating Android Wear into its whole gamut of services.
Since they want you to have “anytime, anywhere productivity”, Yammer is now fully integrated with smartwatches that are on the Android Wear platform. While the wearables previously could display notifications from Yammer before, now you can “like” the messages that you, well, like. You can even reply to the important messages using the voice-reply function of your smartwatch.
Aside from that, you can also now like the notifications you receive on your smartphone without having to unlock it and going to the app. The notifications now roll up by thread, and you can even set your LED to light up if you want to know that you’ve received a Yammer message. You can also now directly share stuff onto your Yammer group from web browsers like Safari, Chrome, as well as other apps you regularly use.
The collaborative app will continue to add even more functionalities later on to make sure you’re in touch with your teammates even if you’re all in different locations (and using Facebook and other messaging apps will be too distracting. The update has been rolling out to users, but you can check for yourself if it’s already available for you on the Google Play Store.
