If you’re an extremely busy person that has to endure a long drive to the office or your meetings, chances are you are often impatiently waiting for the chance to check on your favorite or important apps on your smartphone. But of course you know that it’s quite unsafe to do so (or we hope you understand that it is actually dangerous). An IndieGoGo project called AppYourCar tries to bring you the ability to do so, but in a (hopefully) safer way.
The entire system consists of just three things (four, if you count your smartphone): a wireless Bluetooth controller, a wireless dashboard mounting for your phone, and a mobile app. When you enter your car, all you need to do is attach the controller to your steering wheel, put your smartphone on the dashboard mounting, drive away and you’ll be able to browse the apps that you need while navigating your way through traffic without taking your eyes off the road.
The Bluetooth controller should integrate with your steering wheel and you can control your smartphone through the special buttons as easily as you would actually be using your gadget. It has a thumb joystick that you can use to browse through your calendar, your Google Maps or even when having a voice or video call. You can also control the music playback on your phone through the buttons. Remember though that the point is not to read emails or reply to messages (unless you have voice controlled apps for that) since you’re supposed to be driving and keeping your eye on the road.
The app itself is divided into three: Media, Navigation, and Communication and is easily customizable. They have only reached 72% of their fundraising goal so far, but there are still 8 days left to fund them if you believe in their product. Their estimated delivery date for backers is by June this year.

Thats a great idea! It makes absolutely sense, since any smartphone nowadays is a 1000 times smarter and more up to the task than any in-built infotainmentsystem.
