twitter audio card

Wow. We didn’t see this one coming: Twitter adding audio. Who would think that the micro blogging site would add this feature? Twitter never fails to surprise us and looks like it will be more powerful than ever.

Aside from Facebook and Instagram, Twitter is one of the most popular social media networks today. For years, it has proven to be an effective communication and marketing tool for millions of people around the globe. This time, the music industry will benefit more from the new audio sharing capability as another way to market new songs and albums. Faithful Twitter users are also given a new way to listen to music directly on the site while going through your timeline.

To listen to a song, simply tap on a Twitter Audio Card you see in a Tweet. On your Android device, you can listen to audio directly and search for more songs. You can listen the whole time you’re using the Twitter mobile app. This is a great way for artists to share their latest music right on Twitter. No need to go to YouTube or another website just to hear a song.

Twitter partnered with top music streaming site SoundCloud for this new service. This audio card puts music right on the Tweets so you don’t have to click on a link and get out of Twitter. Twitter has also added information and album art when audio card is on fullscreen. You can easily minimize it if you want to continue going through your timeline.

The service is still being tested but Twitter has managed to bring content from SoundCloud. Content from SoundCloud partners include music, podcast, and other audio files. A long list has been provided but some of the popular partners are the following: WhiteHouse, NASA, WashingtonPost, EW/EWLive, BBCWorldService, Coldplay, DavidGuetta, and ChancetheRapper.

Twitter plans to get more partners, musicians, artists, and producers to bring more songs to the millions of Twitter users.
