Another week, another Galaxy device is introduced. Wait, or should I say another Galaxy Prime? How about another Galaxy Core? Don’t be confused but Samsung has just shown off the Galaxy Core Prime phone. This won’t be another impressive camera phone as the selfie-focused Galaxy Grand Prime as it only has 5MP rear and 2MP front-facing cameras. Making this a winner though is its LTE connectivity.
Smartphone is now ready for pre-order in India through retailer Flipkart but looks like the model listed has no LTE yet. Samsung has not made an official announcement yet but different versions of Galaxy Core Prime have passed through TENAA. Models G3609, G3608 and SM-G3606 are all Galaxy Core Primes that each has TD-LTE connectivity and a dual-SIM slot.
We’re waiting for Samsung to officially launch the phone but we already know the Galaxy Core Prime will have a 4.5-inch PLS LCD screen, WVGA resolution, 1GB RAM, quad-core 1.3GHz processor, 5 megapixel cam, 2MP front-facing camera, 1080p video recording capability, 8GB built-in storage, and a 2,000mAh battery. Phone is thin at only 8.8mm.
Samsung Galaxy Core Prime is listed at INR 8,500 ($137 in the US). Let’s wait for Samsung to officially unveil the new smartphone and announce if and when it will arrive in the United States and the rest of the world.
