After hearing about SyFy, ABC, NBC, Hulu and CBS all blocking their websites from streaming on Google TV, it only seemed inevitable for Fox to join the protesters soon enough. Well, the day has come, Fox has officially blocked their online streaming services from the Google TV.
Fox and the crew block the streaming by Flash ID and it takes the web browsing workarounds out of the picture. There are still a few other websites that still allow some streaming like TNT and Spike. The reason that these companies do this is that they get less ad revenue through online ads than they do through TV commercials. So they want you watching their shows on cable, rather than on the internet on your TV. Looks like Google is going to have to do something to fix this dilemma or they may lose some customers who initially thought that they would be able to use these websites.
