I have a few friends that like to text message, but are too cheap to pay for unlimited messaging so they try to use these alternative messaging platforms. Kik Messenger has been updated and is available for Android, Blackberry, and iOS devices for messaging at no charge. The app is a free download and let’s people chat instantly. The app is more like IM’s sent from your computer to another user rather than texting where it takes a bit for the message to get there.
The app will also tell you if the message was sent, received, and delivered. That is an important feature if you are having a serious conversation and need to know the message went through and didn’t fall into the abyss.
