Going through OnePlus you still need an invitation to buy the One. But it looks like those not keen on waiting for an invite now have another option. The OnePlus One has recently come available for purchase through the OppoMart. The retailer has the 16GB Silk White model available as of today, however there is something you may want to know before making a purchase.
The OnePlus One (shipped through OnePlus) will be running a customized version of CyanogenMod. But in the case of the model you will be purchasing through OppoMart — you will be getting a OnePlus One with Color OS. The OppoMart listing notes the following;
“Because of CyanogenMod is not ready for Oneplus One yet, so all phones installed Color OS now. You can update your phone with CyanogenMod ROM from Oneplus official site or CyanogenMod community a few days later. Thanks for your understanding.”
Basically, you will be buying the same phone in terms of hardware and network support — you’ll just either need to stick with Color OS, or be prepared to install CyanogenMod once the final build has been released by OnePlus. Also, to clarify, the Color OS model does have the Play Store and other Google apps pre-insalled.
Having said that, the OppoMart is selling the 16GB Silk White OnePlus One for $399. Specs include a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 801 processor, 3100 mAh battery and 13MP Sony Exmor IMX214 rear-facing camera. Network support is as follows;
- WCDMA Bands: 1/2/4/5/8, LTE FDD Bands: 1/3/4/7/17/38/40
- WCDMA: Bands: 850/900/1900/2100MHz, LTE FDD: Bands: 1800/2100/2600MHz
