ZTE has announced another handset today, the Concord II. This one will be available with T-Mobile and MetroPCS and touts itself as offering “even more value with a customizable Android experience.” T-Mobile will have the handset available online beginning today, and MetroPCS will have it available in stores and online beginning on May 19th.
The handset is running what is described as being a “nearly” stock version of Android. In this case the version is 4.3 Jelly Bean. The Concord II has a 4.0-inch WVGA (800 x 480) display that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2 and is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8210 processor.
Other spec highlights include 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a microSD memory card slot (up to 32GB) and an 1820 mAh battery. The handset measures in at 4.96 x 2.56 x 0.43-inches and weighs in at 4.4 ounces. There is also a 5MP camera (with auto-focus and LED flash) on the back that can record 720p video at 15 frames per second. ZTE also mentioned how the Concord II has a dual-microphone setup for noise suppression.
Those grabbing the handset with T-Mobile will be able to pair it with the Simple Choice plan, and those grabbing it with MetroPCS will be able to activate it with the unlimited no-annual contract plans that begin at $40 per month. MetroPCS has yet to reveal any pricing, and at the moment the handset has yet to hit the T-Mobile website (though, that should change soon). T-Mobile has said the handset will be available with $0 and 24 monthly payments.
