Secret is an app that offers the promise of being able to “speak freely.” As the name of the app would suggest, users are able to share stuff with others, but they can do it secretly. But so far the ability to speak freely has been limited to those using iOS.

The folks behind the app have yet to reveal an Android release date, however there has been some talk suggesting that would be happening fairly soon. Secret co-founder Chrys Bader-Wechseler has said the Android version is “well along and on the way.”

Along with entry into the Google Play Store, the team also plans to expand globally. Up until now the app has been available for those in the US. Specific countries mentioned for the global expansion include Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and the UK.

Bader-Wechseler didn’t address the issue as to why the app launched only on iOS and not Android, but he did touch a bit on why the app was limited to the US market. It seems this one is simple — the team wanted to make sure they got things right.

Now we’ll just have to wait and see if Android users will begin telling their “secrets.”
