The LG Optimus L90 is heading to T-Mobile later this month, and MetroPCS launched the Optimus L70 today. In the case of T-Mobile, the handset will be available beginning on April 30th. Perhaps as equally important for some — both the L90 and L70 are being pushed as an affordable contract-free option.
The Optimus L90 will have a 4.7-inch qHD display, quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 5 megapixel rear-facing camera and LTE connectivity. There was also mention of a “self-healing paint” on the rear cover to help protect against the normal wear and tear associated with daily use. T-Mobile will have this one priced at $0 down with 24 monthly payments of $9.50.
MetroPCS is pushing the Optimus L70 as being the “perfect device for aspiring tech enthusiasts.” The L70 has features to include a 4.5-inch WVGA display, 5 megapixel rear-facing camera and dual-core 1.2GHz processor. MetroPCS users considering the L70 can expect to pay $49 (which comes after a $100 instant rebate).
Additionally, new customers coming to MetroPCS will be able to qualify for a $49 mail in rebate. Those new customers would need to port-in a phone number and sign up for, then pay for a second month of service. Bottom line here, both T-Mobile and MetroPCS will be offering an affordable Android handset.
