OnePlus has revealed another piece of information regarding the One smartphone. This latest doesn’t deal with the internal specs, but instead has us looking toward the exterior for customization options. Specifically towards the back of the device. Pete Lau, by way of the OnePlus website, has announced something called StyleSwap Covers.
Lau began with mention about how design happens to be very important for them. And in the case of the OnePlus One, they wanted to give users the ability to do a bit of customizing and also protect the device without adding a bulky cover. Not to mention, it seems OnePlus doesn’t want customers covering up their device and hiding the design.
Anyway, these covers will go over the back of the phone, and will be available in a variety of colors and textures. For now OnePlus has confirmed several to include Silk, Sandstone, Denim, Bamboo, and Kevlar. With some exceptions, these covers are being made “with their own respective materials.”
Silk and sandstone were two of those exceptions. OnePlus has yet to announce any pricing for these covers, or whether they would be available individually or bundled in with a phone purchase. Or possibly both. Either way, it seems OnePlus is going to continue stringing us along offering bits and pieces until we finally get a complete picture.
