An official Basecamp app has arrived for Android. For those unfamiliar, Basecamp is a tool for project management. While the app itself is free, users will need to have a paid Basecamp account. More to the point here, we suspect this will come as good news for current Basecamp users who may have felt left out due to the lack of Android app.
The Basecamp app will allow users to stay up to date. This means users will be able to post comments on discussions as well as upload files and view progress on current to-dos. Simply put, the Basecamp Android app means on-the-go access that includes “everything from your projects.”
In related news, 37signals, the company behind Basecamp has announced a rebranding. According to details shared, the company name will be changing.
“We’re changing our name. 37signals is now Basecamp. “37signals” goes into the history books. From now on, we are Basecamp. Basecamp the company, Basecamp the product. We’re one and the same.”
In addition, 37signals Basecamp has said that moving forward they will be “a one product company” and that product will be Basecamp. Otherwise, in terms of the accounts, Basecamp has options that begin from $20 per month. They also offer a 60-day unlimited-use free trial for those curious.
Basecamp for Android can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
