It appears as if Samsung has begun rolling the Android 4.4.2 update to Galaxy Note 3 users a bit ahead of schedule. Of course, that doesn’t mean every Galaxy Note 3 user will be seeing the update notification just yet. To that point, the update has began in Europe, specifically in Poland. And to further detail the availability, for now it seems the update is only available using Kies and for the quad-core Snapdragon variant.
We are expecting the update to also arrive over-the-air, but so far, there hasn’t been any timeline announced by Samsung. The update is arriving as build number N9005XXUENA6, which coincidentally, is the same version that showed up in leaked form this past weekend. We would suggest everyone update, including those who installed the leaked version, but the fact they are both the same build number does suggest the leak should be stable for day to day use.
If you happen to be in Poland and carrying a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 you should be on the lookout for the update notification. Well, either that or preparing to fire up Kies and install the update manually. Otherwise, it seems the update will expand to other markets over the course of the next few weeks. And in some cases, the next few months. So far we have yet to hear anything in terms of when this may arrive in the US market.
Along with waiting for the update to be rolled out further by Samsung, there is also the carrier game to play. There hasn’t been any carrier announcements, but as we often see — the carrier approval process tends to delay the overall speed when it comes to these types of Android updates. If nothing else though, it is refreshing to see the update has begun, even if the rollout is still on the small and limited side.

Bottomline it’s on the way. They said the end of January middle of February well that looks correct. Either way if you are rolling real hard with the Galaxy Note 3 then you already know 4.3 jellybean is definitely kool.
