T-Mobile USA has a new, low-cost smartphone intended for entry-level users, in the shape of the LG Optimus T.  A 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen dominates the front and there’s a 3.2-megapixel camera on the back; a 2GB microSD is preloaded, and the OS is Android 2.2.

LG has done a little work on the UI, and there’s Google’s Voice Actions for Android.  No word on pricing at this stage – we’re hoping $50-$100 on a new agreement at most, otherwise there are definitely other handsets we’d be looking to instead – but T-Mobile says the Optimus T should be arriving in time for the holidays.  It’ll be available in burgundy and titanium.
