The latest installment of the high speed action racer for mobile devices, Asphalt 8, is coming soon. We’ve been seeing little teaser clips and pictures from Gameloft for a few weeks now, but last night they released a pretty stunning teaser video full of gameplay footage. You’ll want to hit the NOS button and check it out.
Gameloft’s Asphalt series is one of the longest running, and best racing games on Android, and we’re expecting another quality title here with the 8th episode. Asphalt 8: Airborne was featured by Google on their new Nexus 7 last week, and they managed to also spill the beans on the release date too.
Asphalt 8: Airborne will officially hit the Google Play Store on August 8th, and will be supported by nearly all Android devices. Although for the best graphics, lifelike reflections and realistic lighting you’ll want to have a powerful Snapdragon, or NVIDIA Tegra powered device. That aside, check out the latest teaser trailer and all the gameplay footage below.
In case that doesn’t have you sold already, here’s a list of a few new additions that will surely make this game a success.
– Brand new real physics engine
– 180 events, 47 licensed cars, new game modes
– Online simultaneous multiplayer action and asynchronous challenges, including friends and global leaderboards
– Social features, including Facebook, Google+, and Google Play Games.
The cars are all officially licensed, so you’ll be driving brand new Corvette C6’s and Mustangs throughout all those 180 different events and race tracks. The video still ends by saying coming soon, but the game will go live in the Play Store on the 8th so stay tuned for a full review to see if it’s worth the download.
