Samsung recently confirmed the US launch of the Galaxy Tab 3 tablet lineup. That full lineup includes a 7.0, 8.0 and 10.1-inch model and so far we have only officially seen talk of those tablets arriving in a WiFi only form. While we have yet to hear anything official from Samsung, it is looking like an LTE model is heading to AT&T.

That tablet is the 7.0-inch model and details have recently been discovered in an FCC filing. The filing has the tablet listed as being the SM-T217A and while the Galaxy Tab 3 name wasn’t included — the measurements do seem to line up rather nicely. Those measurements, which are shown to be 186mm (H) x 110mm (W) are being compared to the filing for the WiFi only Galaxy Tab 3 that appeared with the FCC earlier in the year.

In addition, this filing is showing support for LTE, in addition to the WiFi. Specifically, in this case the filing documents support for LTE bands 2, 4, 5 and 17 along with UMTS (3G) connectivity on the 850 and 1900MHz bands. Basically, just what would be needed for AT&T. Of course, the dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth LE were also mentioned in the filing.

From there the next step would be some sort of announcement or confirmation from AT&T. But as always, we have to remember that just because a device is spotted in an FCC filing doesn’t guarantee it will see a release as we would expect and/or hope.

At this time AT&T has a few other Android tablet available including the “waterproof for real life” Pantech Element and the Lenovo IdeaTab A2107. As far as Samsung models, AT&T is currently offering the 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab 2 and the 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Note which are selling for $349.99 and $399.99 respectively. That being the case, maybe AT&T is looking towards the Galaxy Tab 3 to round out the Samsung size options.
