A new update is currently rolling out for the HipChat Android application. HipChat is a group chat tool and the new update brings the application to version 2.0. The developers of the app say that the new update was the result of beta testing that has been ongoing over the last several months.
The developers say the modifications made to version 2.0 of the application are the result of feedback from over 4500 installations of the beta app. The redesign makes the app a more native Android user interface. The developers also updated the design to reflect the most recent guidelines for Android applications.
Version 2.0 the app is designed to work on a broader spectrum of Android versions from 2.2 up. The update brings a sliding menu to the app for easier navigation between rooms and different chats. Photos can also be uploaded directly via the app from your library or the device camera.
The developers of the application say that the beta version of the app will continue to be available separately on the Google Play store offering more frequent updates. However, users who want a more stable application can download HipChat 2.0 right now and will receive less frequent updates along the way.
