Google’s support page accidentally leaked out what appears to be a Google Now widget. This is most likely a dream come true for those of you avid Google Now users. The widget is very simplistic, displaying 3 cards in a small 4×2 box. Now, not only can you have the information you want automatically delivered to you, but you can also view them with just a glance at your smartphone.
According to the support page, the Google Now widget can be used either on your home screen or your lock screen. Clicking on one of the cards will bring you to its section in Google Now. The cards displayed in the widget will most likely be based on your preference.
There’s no release date planned yet on when we’ll see this on our devices, but judging from the fact that there is already a support page for it, we’re guessing it shouldn’t be too long from now. It is still unknown whether the widget will be available through a system update, or directly from the Google Play store.
For those of you who don’t yet know about Google Now, it’s a great service that provides you with up-to-date information on a wide variety of things. You can check appointments, upcoming events, restaurant reviews, weather, scores, flight times, and much more. Google Now is also just getting started. They’ve recently added support for digital boarding passes, college sports, and public alerts. We expect that they’ll add a bunch of new features in the near future.
