Look at AT&T go! It wasn’t very long ago we last told you about AT&T’s continued 4G LTE expansion, and now the carrier has given us more to report about today. AT&T has turned on 4G LTE service in five new markets across the US while expanding service in others, so it’s going to be a good day for a lot of people as far as mobile data speeds are concerned.
If you’re living in Oxford, Massachusetts; Tucson, Arizona; Green Bay, Wisconsin; Springfield, Massachusetts; or Melbourne, Florida, then you should have access to AT&T’s 4G LTE network from today. This brings the total number of markets for AT&T LTE up to 125, so there’s a healthy number of people covered by the carrier’s network. That number is rising very quickly too, so it won’t be much longer before even more people are covered.
Additionally, AT&T has expanded its network in Pheonix, New York, Salt Lake City, and Los Angeles, so more customers in that region are now covered after an earlier, initial launch. We’ve been hearing a lot about AT&T’s 4G LTE network lately, with the company aggressively expanding across the nation. We’ll undoubtedly be hearing more soon, as AT&T’s plans for expansion will continue through 2013 and 2014.
In other words: get used to seeing news like this. Unfortunately, despite how quickly AT&T is rolling out its network, Verizon already got the jump on its competitor, recently announcing plans to finish its 4G LTE network by mid-2013. That clearly puts Verizon in the lead, but AT&T has been making a strong second place showing. Are you one of the many getting 4G LTE service today?
Keep the wins rolling in Green Bay too. Go Packers!
